Design Story
The Lonkero reflects upon the 20th Human Rights Article that talks about everyone's rights to take part in meetings and belong to groups. The Lonkero consists of individual hats that reflects individual personalities, beliefs, cultures and point of views. These hats can be connected to each other with the help of various tangles(Lonkero is tangle in Finnish). When the hats are connected it becomes a fusion wear connecting individuals to peaceful gatherings to share ideas and exchange opinions. This piece of clothing promotes our right to gather in groups and additionally our freedom of speech and opinions. It also reflects the importance of communities and our need to connect to others, still giving us the chance to be ourselves.
| Step 1: Each participant plans and crafts an individual hat. The hat should have a number of extensions or tangles that can be connected to other hats. Collaboration in idea generating and crafting tips are recommended. | |
| Step 2: Connect the hats to a fusion wear, during the process share what your hat symbolizes for you! |
